Job description
We are looking for a Verification and Validation Engineer with expertise in (underwater) acoustics for our underwater defence and security division with starting time as soon as possible. You will become a part of our young and enthusiastic R&D team, working in a dynamic and stimulating international environment, with great growth opportunities. In this role, you will design, plan, coordinate, execute and report the testing of new system components and sensor prototypes as a part of our development process with focus on acoustic characterization of our transducers.

Key Responsibilities:
Conceptualization of lab test setups and testing methodologies in accordance with project requirements and the relevant standards.
Design and realization of lab test setups and the associated infrastructure, including mechanical, electrical and software components (in collaboration with our mechanical/electrical/software engineers).
Performing the required testing activities according to the developed methodology and planning, with focus on safety, quality and time aspects.
Processing and evaluation of measurement data, as well as reporting and documenting the test results for internal and external stakeholders.
Maintenance and upgrading of test benches and test equipment in the lab.
Interacting and providing feedback to hardware and software R&D engineers supporting development and improvement of our sensors and sensing systems.
Documentation and handover of the test setups, corresponding HW/SW infrastructure and evaluation algorithm to our production team.

Job requirements
Qualifications:
MSc (or higher) in Mechanical/Electrical/Mechatronics engineering, experimental physics or similar.
3+ years of experience in a similar position as a test, verification and/or validation engineer with focus on acoustic and/or vibrational testing in research and development context.
Broad experience with interfacing, controlling and automation of lab and measurement equipment.
Excellent knowledge and experience with data acquisition, signal conditioning and processing.
Experience with Python, MATLAB, or LabView.
Good communication skills in English.
Experience within underwater acoustic, defence industry and relevant MIL standards is a big plus.
Structured and independent way of working.
Experience with fibreoptic measurement principles and/or interferometry is a plus.
You'll be working with clients in the defense and security sectors, obtaining a Certificate of No Objection issued by the AIVD (Dutch General Intelligence and Security Service) is mandatory.
