We are seeking a skilled and motivated Electrical Applications Engineer to join our team. This role is a crucial link between our customers and our commercial team, ensuring that the technical aspects of our solutions are clearly communicated, implemented, and delivered. The Applications Engineer will act as the technical point of contact throughout the customer journey, from supporting sales efforts to on-site installation and commissioning.

 

To be successful you have to have a broad knowledge of electrical grid assets and/or partial discharge. The biggest challenge will be to understand the technology and the principles behind it. If you're open and collaborative with other members of the team, and have great communication skills to grow relationships with other companies you will succeed. The Applications Engineer role brings lots of challenges and exciting adventures for you and you can see your contributions and inputs to the development of our products directly.

Responsibilities:

  • Act as the technical counterpart to the sales manager, focusing on customer requirements and application needs.

  • Engage with customers to understand their technical challenges and propose optimal solutions.

  • Provide technical input and support during proposal preparation, customer meetings, and product demonstrations.

  • Plan and execute on-site installation and commissioning of systems at customer facilities.

  • Coordinate with customer teams to ensure smooth implementation, including safety and compliance considerations.

  • Prepare and organize necessary equipment, tools, and documentation ahead of site visits.

  • Collaborate with internal departments (engineering, operations, logistics, etc.) to ensure successful project outcomes.

  • Support the broader sales and applications team in various activities, including technical content preparation, proposals, and customer communication.

  • Represent the company at industry events, conferences, and exhibitions.

  • Assist in preparing technical papers, case studies, and presentations to showcase our expertise.

Job requirements

Qualifications:

  • Electrical engineering or Physics degree (BSc or MSc).

  • 0-3 years of relevant experience (Work or academic background in electrical systems and applications).

  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to explain complex technical concepts to diverse audiences.

  • A professional and outgoing personality, with the ability to work both in a team environment and directly with clients.

  • Strong problem-solving skills and a customer-oriented mindset.

  • Willingness to travel internationally for customer visits, installations, and events (about 30% of the time)

Plus:

  • Experience with fiber optic sensing or with acoustic emission is a plus.

  • Experience in our markets of reference is a plus: Structural health monitoring, Asset management, Condition monitoring, Non-destructive testing.
