Controller

As a Controller at Optics11, you will play a pivotal role in our finance team, driving accuracy and efficiency in accounting operations and influencing key business decisions. With a focus on improving WIP and production accounting, you'll collaborate across departments to ensure our financial processes align with the demands of a growing, innovative company. Key Responsibilities

Accounting Operations and Compliance

• Drive the accuracy and integrity of financial records, including the general ledger and journal entries.

• Improve accounting policies and processes around production and projects (WIP accounting).

• Prepare monthly account reconciliations and take responsibility for the month-end close process.

• Ensure compliance with relevant accounting standards and internal controls.

• Assist in the preparation of statutory reports and filings as required.

Financial Reporting and Analysis

• Assist in the preparation of financial reports and statements, ensuring they are accurate and completed on time.

• Contribute to the preparation of budgets, forecasts and financial projections.

• Provide strategic financial insights and recommendations to support key business decisions and long-term growth plans.

• Identify opportunities for cost savings and operational efficiencies.

Process Improvement

• Collaborate with the finance team to optimize and streamline accounting processes.

• Proactively identify financial risks or discrepancies and develop actionable recommendations for improvement.

• Work closely with production, R&D, and sales teams to align financial processes with operational needs.

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or related field.

• 3+ years of experience in an accounting or finance role.

• Experience with work-in-progress/project accounting and production accounting.

• Proficiency in accounting software (experience with Exact is a plus) and Microsoft Office365.

• Strong understanding of accounting principles, financial regulations and best practices.

• Strong problem-solving skills, adaptability to changing priorities and excellent communication skills to interact with various stakeholders.

• Ability to work independently as well as part of a team in a fast-paced, high-growth environment.

• A working proficiency in Dutch is considered an advantage (plus).

Note: We are seeking candidates who are already residing in the Netherlands.
