Finance Manager
- Hybrid
Job description
We are looking for a hands-on and experienced Finance Manager to join our growing team and take ownership of the full accounting and financial control function at Optics11.
Optics11 is a world leader in fiber optic sensing technology for ultra-sensitive early warning systems. From our base in the Netherlands – a global hub for high-tech innovation and maritime expertise – we are on a mission to make the world safer by protecting critical infrastructure such as sea-lanes, offshore energy assets and subsea cables from disruption. Optics11 recently closed a €17m investment round.
As Finance Manager, you will play a central role in ensuring the integrity and reliability of our financial reporting and internal control environment. You’ll be responsible for the day-to-day accounting operations, monthly close and reporting cycle and cash flow forecasting. This role is ideal for someone with a solid background in audit or financial control who has since gained business experience in a dynamic, changing environment such as a scale-up.
You’ll report directly to the CFO and collaborate closely with stakeholders across the company (e.g. Sales, People, Operations and R&D) and a Junior Controller. This is a great opportunity for a proactive and hands-on finance professional who enjoys building processes, driving improvements and being involved in all aspects of finance.
Key Responsibilities:
Financial Accounting & Control:
Manage all day-to-day accounting operations including the general ledger, journal entries and account reconciliations.
Take full ownership of the month-end and year-end closing processes.
Ensure timely and accurate preparation of monthly financial reports and management accounts.
Maintain and improve internal control processes to ensure compliance with accounting standards and regulatory requirements.
Coordinate statutory filings, audits and liaise with external accountants and advisors.
Support the further development of project/WIP accounting and production-related financial processes.
Monitor and manage capital expenditure planning and reporting in line with company budgets and investment priorities.
Ensure alignment with the People team and manage coordination with the external payroll provider.
Cash Flow & Forecasting:
Prepare and monitor cash flow forecasts to support financial planning and liquidity management.
Monitor working capital development and support process improvements to optimize cash conversion.
Financial Process Improvement:
Identify and implement improvements in finance processes and tools (e.g. full ERP in the future) to enhance efficiency, accuracy and scalability.
Collaborate cross-functionally with teams in operations, commercial and product development to ensure alignment between financial processes and business needs.
Support budgeting, forecasting and financial analysis activities as needed.
What’s in it for you?
Competitive salary and benefits package.
A key finance role in a high-tech scale-up with real impact.
A dynamic international environment with short decision lines and plenty of room to grow.
Hybrid working model for flexibility and work-life balance.
A fun and collaborative team culture where innovation and initiative are valued.
