Senior IT Infrastructure Engineer

As a Senior IT Infrastructure Engineer, you will be responsible for the overall IT infrastructure in our offices – from managing network architecture and servers to guiding our growing team of specialists. You’ll act as an escalation point for complex issues, and you’ll be the go-to person for mission-critical systems and high-level troubleshooting. Key Responsibilities

• Oversee the design, deployment, and maintenance of our on-premises servers and office networks.

• Implement best practices for data protection, intrusion detection, and compliance with relevant regulations.

• Serve as the final point of escalation for complex IT issues, providing expert guidance to the IT Support Specialist.

• Monitor system performance, identify bottlenecks, and drive continuous improvement across our infrastructure.

• Leverage scripting (e.g., PowerShell, Bash) to streamline repetitive tasks and improve efficiency.

• Develop and maintain robust backup solutions and disaster recovery plans.

• Collaborate with external service providers for hardware, software, and network support.

• Maintain clear documentation of systems, processes, and procedures, and train relevant staff where needed.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent experience) in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a similar field.

• 5+ years in a system administration or infrastructure engineering role, ideally in a fast-paced or high-tech setting.

• In-depth knowledge of Windows and Linux server environments, virtualization platforms, Microsoft Azure and networking protocols (TCP/IP, VPN, VLANs, firewalls).

• Familiarity with network security, intrusion detection systems, and best practices for data protection.

• Proven track record in diagnosing complex system or network issues and implementing timely resolutions.

• Comfortable working independently, acting as the primary escalation point, and collaborating with cross-functional teams.

• Strong verbal and written English skills; Dutch is an advantage.

• Quick to respond to shifting priorities and business needs.
