We are seeking a skilled and proactive Senior IT Infrastructure Engineer to take ownership of our IT environment and support our continued growth with reliable, secure, and scalable solutions.

As a Senior IT Infrastructure Engineer, you will be responsible for the overall IT infrastructure in our offices – from managing network architecture and servers to guiding our growing team of specialists. You’ll act as an escalation point for complex issues, and you’ll be the go-to person for mission-critical systems and high-level troubleshooting. Key Responsibilities
Oversee the design, deployment, and maintenance of our on-premises servers and office networks.
Implement best practices for data protection, intrusion detection, and compliance with relevant regulations.
Serve as the final point of escalation for complex IT issues, providing expert guidance to the IT Support Specialist.
Monitor system performance, identify bottlenecks, and drive continuous improvement across our infrastructure.
Leverage scripting (e.g., PowerShell, Bash) to streamline repetitive tasks and improve efficiency.
Develop and maintain robust backup solutions and disaster recovery plans.
Collaborate with external service providers for hardware, software, and network support.
Maintain clear documentation of systems, processes, and procedures, and train relevant staff where needed.

Job requirements
Requirements
Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent experience) in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a similar field.
5+ years in a system administration or infrastructure engineering role, ideally in a fast-paced or high-tech setting.
In-depth knowledge of Windows and Linux server environments, virtualization platforms, Microsoft Azure and networking protocols (TCP/IP, VPN, VLANs, firewalls).
Familiarity with network security, intrusion detection systems, and best practices for data protection.
Proven track record in diagnosing complex system or network issues and implementing timely resolutions.
Comfortable working independently, acting as the primary escalation point, and collaborating with cross-functional teams.
Strong verbal and written English skills; Dutch is an advantage.
Quick to respond to shifting priorities and business needs.
