Optics11 is seeking an experienced Senior Verification and Validation Engineer to drive the end-to-end IVVQ processes for our cutting-edge underwater security systems. This role involves overseeing system integration, testing, validation, and qualification to ensure the seamless delivery of high-quality solutions to our clients. The Senior IVVQ Engineer will guide small IVVQ team and work closely with multidisciplinary project teams to ensure that system solutions meet technical requirements, perform as expected, and satisfy customer needs.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Guide and coordinate activities of a IVVQ team, providing mentorship to more junior colleagues.
  • Develop comprehensive IVVQ strategies and plans based on system requirements, ensuring that all integration, testing, and qualification activities are well-coordinated.
  • Lead system integration activities, ensuring hardware, software, and subsystems work cohesively and meet design specifications.
  • Execute and oversee verification and validation processes, ensuring systems meet functional and performance requirements.
  • Develop test plans, test cases, and test procedures; manage and execute system-level testing to validate functionality, performance, and reliability.
  • Identify, document, and manage defects found during testing, collaborating with development teams to resolve issues.
  • Ensure that systems undergo thorough qualification, certifying that they meet regulatory and customer-specific requirements.
  • Act as the primary interface between development, system, QA, and project management teams for IVVQ-related tasks, ensuring alignment and smooth communication.
  • Prepare detailed reports on testing results, validation outcomes, and qualification status, presenting findings to internal and external stakeholders.
  • Identify areas for improvement within the IVVQ processes and implement best practices for increased efficiency and effectiveness.

Job requirements

Qualifications:

  • Master's (or higher) degree in Systems Engineering, Electronics, Mechanical Engineer, Telecommunications, or a related field.
  • 7+ years of relevant work experience with a focus on integration, verification, validation, and qualification (IVVQ) activities.
  • Strong background in leading end-to-end system integration and testing in complex projects.
  • Experience with IVVQ methodologies and tools, including test automation, defect management systems, and test case management software.
  • Experience working in regulated industries such as defense, aerospace, or telecommunications and knowledge of relevant industry standards and certification requirements is highly desirable.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail, with the ability to identify root causes of system issues.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills to work effectively with cross-functional teams. Fluency in English is mandatory.
  • Experience in systems involving sensors, communication systems, or fiber optics is a plus.
  • Ability to lead teams or mentor junior engineers within the IVVQ process.
  • Proactive mindset with a focus on continuous improvement and optimization of processes.

You'll be working with clients in the defense and security sectors, obtaining a Certificate of No Objection issued by the AIVD (Dutch General Intelligence and Security Service) is mandatory.
