Job description

Currently, we are looking for a skilled Systems Engineer to guide system engineering process for the design, development, and integration of our complex sensing solutions in underwater security domain. In this role, you will contribute to the full systems engineering lifecycle, from requirements gathering to system validation. You will collaborate closely with multidisciplinary project team, ensuring system designs are aligned with customer requirements and industry best practices.

Our novel fiberoptic technology is redefining underwater security, enabling advanced sonar solutions for safeguarding of key naval and underwater infrastructure. Key Responsibilities:

  • Analyze clients' technical requirements to design and integrate our fiberoptic sensing solutions in the underwater security domain.

  • Shape high-level system architecture and support R&D team in the full product breakdown into fundamental subcomponents to meet defined requirements.

  • Write technical requirements definition and support the requirements breakdown towards subsystems/subcomponents.

  • Be in contact with the development, IVVQ and project management team to define the activities required to develop a solution meeting the client needs.

  • Guide implementation of system engineering approach across multidisciplinary project team.

  • Support integration and validation of the solution elements to ensure that the system and its sub-components (hardware and software) function as a cohesive system and are in line with the specifications and requested functionalities.

Job requirements

Qualifications:

  • Master's (or higher) degree in Systems Engineering, Electronics, Mechanical Engineer, Telecommunications, or a related field.

  • Minimum of 3 years of relevant working experience, ideally in defence or security sector.

  • Deep knowledge of Systems Engineering principles and requirements engineering, ideally substantiated by relevant certification (e.g. INCOSE).

  • Knowledgeable or eager to learn about fiberoptic sensors, sonar and underwater acoustics.

  • Passionate for technologies, continuing education and problem solving.

  • Well-organized with ability to work independently and proactively.

  • Good communication skills, both verbally and written. Fluency in English is mandatory.

  • Demonstrated initiative to learn new technologies, analytical and problem-solving skills.

You'll be working with clients in the defence and security sectors, obtaining a Certificate of No Objection issued by the AIVD (Dutch General Intelligence and Security Service) is mandatory.
